After about a week of stormy weather it suddenly cleared yesterday and although it was really nippy, we took advantage of the break to have a mooch round Waterhead. There was still quite a lot of snow on the fells, mist over the lake and a crisp frost on the surrounding fields, and it was cold enough for frostbite operating the camera (well, almost!). But it was worth it, for the fresh air, a leg stretch, and a whole series of wonderfully atmospheric photos of Windermere, Ambleside, and the surrounding fells.
These are actually the first photos I’ve taken this year. I was really lucky with the conditions, which were ever-changing and perfect for photography.
