December Roses excerpts

Thinking about buying my latest book December Roses but not quite sure what to expect? Well, now there are two different excerpts available to help you decide.

The first is at STONEWALL WRITERS & READERS. It’s a nice long piece from where main character Nat first meets Richie, the maddeningly elusive man he falls in love with. “All he could see was the glow of the freshly-lighted cigarette, and less clearly, the lips of the person smoking it. A man’s lips, wide and slightly full, that turned up naturally at the corners into a permanent, impish smile. Tolkien’s elf, made flesh and blood after all…”

The second features Richie introducing Nat to the area of the garden known as China. “Twin stands of giant rhubarb framed the stygian view, grey on indigo on black until the moon rose and splashed silvery light on the pallid timbers of a little ‘Willow Pattern’ bridge.” This one’s on MY OWN WEBSITE.

The full versions of both excerpts are free to read, so feel free to take a look. I hope you enjoy them!

Just Visiting excerpt

Those nice folk at Stonewall Writers & Readers have posted another excerpt for me, from my latest book Just Visiting.

This is the gay time-travel romance I published a few weeks ago. Rather appropriately (and completely accidentally) it features a fight against inequality and outright racism, as well as mention of a Great Plague!

You can read the excerpt, which is from the very beginning of the story, right here, absolutely free. I hope you enjoy it.

Try before you buy: Echoes of Blood

Buying a book from an author you’ve not tried before – or even buying from an author you have read but in a different genre – can be a bit daunting. I know that lots of people don’t know me from Adam (or perhaps Eve…) and those that do may not remember my gay romance.

So, here’s a chance to dip into my new book, and try it before you buy it. Those nice people at Stonewall Writers & Readers have posted a lengthy excerpt which you can read absolutely free. The piece I chose is from the very beginning of the book and introduces the main character Daniel, as well as some of the mystery involving the Fallen Angel club and a couple of its more enigmatic customers.

Even if it doesn’t tempt you to buy the book, I hope you enjoy it. If you like it and want to read more, the book is available to buy on Kindle at only £2.99. And thank you!
